WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) -- The original Boston Garden is long gone, and so is the fear in opponents' eyes when they play the Celtics on their home floor.
So don't expect the Orlando Magic to be too intimidated when they arrive for Games 3 and 4 of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference finals.
"We've won there before, and there's no reason we can't do it again," forward Rashard Lewis said Friday as the Magic prepared for Game 3. "Boston came to us and beat us twice on our home court, so it's happened before. Why can't we do it? Why can't it happen again?"
The Celtics took the first two games in Orlando, stealing the home-court advantage and earning a chance to advance without having to leave town again. A victory at the new Boston Garden on Saturday night would give them a chance to complete the sweep on Monday.

NBA Playoffs: Phoenix Suns vs LA Lakers

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Channing Frye is just grateful an NBA playoff series doesn't follow the Tour de France's rules.
After enduring their largest blowout loss in four months in the Western Conference finals opener, the Phoenix Suns don't have to begin Game 2 way behind the guys in the yellow jerseys.
"They're not going to start out with a 30-point lead," said Frye, forgetting the Suns lost to the Lakers by a mere 21 points Monday night. "It's over, and we're going to be even again, so hopefully we'll do a better job."
The Suns seemed cautiously upbeat Tuesday at their Staples Center workout following Los Angeles' 128-107 victory in the opener. Coach Alvin Gentry held court with team personnel at the scorers' table, while Steve Nash calmly sipped a cup of tea across the way.
And Amare Stoudemire was still talking tough before Game 2 on Wednesday night.

After winning 60 games again, the Cleveland Cavaliers can't afford to be overconfident. The Boston Celtics  failed to capitalize after reaching the milestone last season, and have only regressed since.

The Cavaliers, the ninth franchise in league history to post consecutive 60-win seasons, can clinch home-court advantage throughout the playoffs with a win over the foundering Celtics on Sunday afternoon.

Cleveland earned its 60th victory Friday night, beating Atlanta 93-88. It's the 18th time that a team has won at least 60 games in back-to-back seasons.

The Cavaliers are 60-16 after going 66-16 in 2008-09. Boston was the last team to do it, going 62-20 last season and 66-16 in 2007-08.

Few states were hit worse by the economic crisis than Michigan, the heart of the U.S. auto industry, and Izzo made sure his players embraced their chance to lift a beleaguered state.Butler isn't shouldering quite as heavy a burden. Basketball is ingrained in Indiana's identity, but it has been a rough stretch lately for the state's three big-name schools. Indiana had its second straight losing season. Notre Dame got bounced out in the first round in the NCAA tournament. And Purdue, a dark horse pick for the Final Four a few weeks ago, became an underdog after Robbie Hummel went down.Leave it to little Butler -- enrollment 4,200 -- to give Hoosier fans some hope."This is unique," Butler coach Brad Stevens acknowledged. Kobe Bryant has reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Lakers on a three-year extension that could be worth more than $90 million.

Bryant has had the contract sitting on the table throughout the season and finally reached agreement in the last 24 hours, sources say. He could have opted out of his current deal this summer and become part of the NBA’s historic free-agent class, but will now likely finish his career with the Lakers.

The extension keeps Bryant under contract through the 2013-14 season. Bryant announced his intentions to stay with the Lakers last summer and reaffirmed that during the season, especially after the team also signed forward Pau Gasol to an extension.

“I’m set up to have a good run here,” Bryant told Yahoo! Sports in January. “I’ve been very fortunate. I went through seven years of hell. Management decided that it was time to spend the money to bring in the players here.”

The only question left unanswered is whether coach Phil Jackson returns next season. He told reporters last week he won’t make a final decision until after the season.

“I think it’s the best way to approach it right now,” Jackson said. “The way this team is, the way it’s built, the way it’s going throughout the season, the direction the NBA is going right now. A lot of these things fit together.”

Bryant, 31, is a four-time NBA champion and the 2008 NBA Most Valuable Player.
